Meat Beat Manifesto is led by producer/re-mixer Jack Dangers. Dangers has been helping to define the sound of electronic music over the past 10 years, experimenting with dub, heavy breaks, industrial, and experimental sounds. Dangers hails from Swindon, England but currently lives in San Francisco, California where in his home studio he has been busy producing and remixing various electronic music projects! Dangers and his music have been featured in the movie "Better Living Through Circuitry" (May, 2000).

Horn Of Jerico - This is a dark, slow groove laden with classic 606 and 808-like beats and ultra deep bass and synth sounds provided by the Synthi 100. It also demonstrates the new direction Meat Beat's sound is moving; from their latest release, "R.U.O.K?", 2002.

Prime Audio Soup - Here is the popular track featured in the movie "The Matrix" as well as a BMW commercial. From the record, Meat Beat Manifesto vs. The Herbaliser, 2000.

Meat Beat Manifesto has long been known for hard-edged electronic music that's always been a musical blend of great analog sounds and hi-tech digital sounds. Everything from samples from television, movies and other bizarre places to classic modular vintage synths and ultra-modern experimental synths such as Korg's Kaoss pad have been used in creating his own sound. Most recently, Dangers has acquired an extremely rare and powerful synthesizer, the EMS Synthi 100 (shown above). It said to be one of only 29 in existence, and the last one still functioning properly today. Meat beat's latest album, "R.U.O.K?" features extensive use of the Synthi 100, which allowed Dangers to painstakingly shape and mold each and every one of the synth, bass, percussion and effect sounds that make up the sonic-scape of "R.U.O.K?". It took about four years to complete the album.

Book of Shadows - Here is a cut-up, electro wonder. Great analog sounds and sampled breaks! From the album, Actual Sounds and Voices, 1998.

Dangers would program sounds into the Synthi and use its built-in six-layer sequencer to play patterns. The Synthi's sequencer could be clocked to his computer running Logic Audio. He also uses a vast array of classic and often eclectic synths and outboard gear. And of course there's sampling, "I use Recycle so I can replay slices on the keyboard, and reprogram it in the AKAI." Jack's gear also includes the Human League's old Roland System-100, an ARP 2500, 2600, EMS VCS3, E-mu Modular, and a Buchla with touch-keyboard, Roland Jupiter 8, VP-330 Vocoder Plus, Oberheim Xpander, E-Mu Emax, and a Vintage Keys. He also uses a Power Mac, Emagic Logic, ReCycle and Pro Tools.
