Clavia Nord Lead 2

Nord Lead 2 Image

The incredible Nord Lead synthesizer is taken a few steps further with the Nord Lead 2. It uses the same synthesis technology and sounds as good as the Nord Lead, but adds a few nice new touches. These features include a ring modulator, OSC 1 can sync with the white noise generator, increased LFO and arpeggiator waveforms and patterns, distortion in the squelchier punchier filter section and 4 individual outputs.

All the great sound, MIDI control and analog-like sound and design that made the Nord Lead famous return in this new and improved version. For those of you who do not need the 49 note velocity+aftertouch sensitive keyboard, there is a rack module version - the Nord Rack 2.

Hardly using mine at the moment, finding hard to fall in love with it. Don't know why - it sounds goods. I think there's an overload of presets, still haven't sound checked them all, although I do prefer to make my own. Like the FM knob tho. Maybe I need to dedicate more time to it.

I made the decision to switch from a nord lead 2x, to a Rocland Juno Di, because the Nord Lead 2x did not provide any acoustic piano patches, only electric. I am happy with my juno but I really wish I had keep my Nord lead 2x.I loved that synth so much, because I never knew what a synth was before that, and I think I never would have wanted to be an active musician(not a hobbiest) without it.

I love my lead 2x , just add a few guitar pedals and you are set! nice leads , spacey pads also works great as a midi controller for secuencing other synths , and really cuts thru a mix when recording songs , nice all around synth , but I prefer other synths for bass , cheers!

Hi Alex!Used to have a NORD LEAD 2X,but got rid of it,as I didn't like it at all,it's just very limited. To be honest I really like the DiscoDSP's Discovery much more, although it's a VST plugin, sounds better and has much more possibilities,my opinion though.Used to have lots of other VA and real analog synths like MOOG's,ROLAND's KORG's etc.,the VIRUS TI is my favourite from the VA,and ALESIS ANDROMEDA from the real analog. My winner from CLAVIA is the NORD MODULAR,just so versatile,so big sounding, the sounds it produces are so unique,I just love it!
