E-mu Audity 2000

E-mu Audity 2000 Image

The Audity 2000 takes its name from the classic and one-and-only Audity, but that's about it. Although, the Audity 2000 has the same synthesis architecture as the Proteus, and the Proteus's synth chips were designed with the original Audity in mind. The Audity 2000 is a digital synth with an unprecedented 16 simultaneous arpeggiators. That's great for trance and techno! With an emphasis on electronic groove music, the Audity 2000 offers up many dance type sounds but with an uncomfortable digital "tinny" overtone. Its 12-pole digital resonant filter is nice...but it's no Moog.

The Audity 2000 features 64-voice polyphony with six analog outputs and a S/PDIF digital output. Patch editing is tedious, but it uses a Modular PatchCord architecture (probably inspired by the designs and concepts in the synth from which it takes its name) for extreme sound-sculpting capabilities. Originally released in 1998 with version 1.0 software, subsequent upgrades including a 2.0 version finally led to the inception of the Xtreme Lead-1. The Audity 2000 has been used by ATB and The Crystal Method.

Hi, manuel k1,
I have all the doc files for my Audity2000. Drop a message to my address at my tius dot hu site, and I'll send them to you (English, German).
As to the synth: to me it sounds a little unfriendly, metallic, thin and inorganic, and as if it was continuously operating through a bit crusher. But it certainly has a personality of its own, and it's wonderfully unusual.
It feels even better through some analogue 'deterioration processor' like a guitar combo.
Does a usable editor exist for it?

Still love that snnth. Anyone got a manual for it? I lost mine. Would love to geht one as a file, also a German manual would be perfect, but English will be O.K.

A buddy of mine just got the E-mu Audity for $124.00 off eBay, it was sold to him by the keyboardist from the band, 'God Module' which he apparently used on several tours and multiple albums: http://bit.ly/EmuAudityForOnly124

"I used this synth [Emu Audity 2000] on many of the early God Module albums (ARTIFICIAL, PERCEPTION, EMPATH and VICTIMS AMONG FRIENDS)..."

Likely one of the best deals for a working Emu Audity in MINT condition, especially since this particular rack has proven itself as a favorite and usable synth by such a hard-working, world renowned Dark Electro Rock keyboardist.

This is my latest studio acquisition. And so far, I'm Lovin It. The sounds available act more as inspirational pieces for me. I also, started enjoying the drums on this unit. I been creating a HIPHOP/FUNK/ELECTRONIC fusion sounds from all my E-MU mods for the past year. Getting great feedback every since. Only a few more mods to collect to complete my set. Peace...Netm8kr

A good stand alone midi arpegiator that can drive other midi synths, as a synth it is really cool as well. You can layer a drumbeat a bassline and a pad ect . Spending a bit of time setting up a patch can lead to a lot of inspiration. The soundest on this is pretty different. Sure it dosent sound like a moog filter . For 2 hundred bucks it's a lot of fun
