Someone is smoking some real good stuff in Japan. But at least the shipping's free.

And these guys are equally out to lunch.

Not to resurrect old arguments, but I agree with what nvbrkr said 100% on all counts. (This was dated years ago, but it is as relevant today as it was back then, if not more so.

I have two of these units. The second one won't be posted for sale until the first one sells

Yeah, this seller is in for a loooooong wait... Most of the TX racks I've seen were even less than half this price!

Mint, Museum Quality, A+++++ condition, immaculate Prophet 5!

Serial #1331, No Revision # given, ONE photo. Buy it now for $1800 shipped!! Pre-Approved Bidders/Buyers Only.

Decent Prophet 5s go for around $2900 - $3500. But this museum quality reference piece is $1800, what a deal!

This one sounds like a scam listing. I hope I'm wrong, for the the buyer/winner's sake, if there is one..

Whenever the text of the description part is enclosed within an image file (with an email address for direct contact) instead of regular typing, it's a scam.

That is exactly what the listing had! Just as you described it. I figured it was a bullshit scam listing.. I'm kind of surprised he didn't claim it was at least a Rev. 2 or 1, to make it even more ridiculous. #1331 I think would've made it a Rev. 3.

Yes - definitely be very wary indeed of tantalising Prophet 5 sales on eBay (esp. both in the UK and the US) - it seems the crooks have latched onto the synth's collectability and I've seen several rogue sales over the years and I don't know how these people are getting away with it.

A Roland CM-64 for $1K? I don't think it's going to sell soon...
