Synth with many voices

Postby DStav » Wed Jul 30, 2014 9:25 am

I'm looking for a synth (not a controller) with many voices (including Grand Piano) that's not above 400€ (536$) - somewhat like the Casio XW-P1. Also, according to the same criteria, let me know what you think about these few synths I've found: YAMAHA ANX1, ROLAND JD-800, YAMAHA CS2X, ROLAND JUNO-D, ROLAND JX-3P, ROLAND D-50, ROLAND XP-50, ROLAND JV-80, KORG TRITON LE, KORG TRITON. Please tell me also how many voices every model features. Thanks a lot!!!!

also youre looking for samples in ROM, or at least patches, more than voices. many voices just means you can play more notes at once; the number of voices on an analog or hybrid syth is fixed, while many digital synths the polyphony varies according to how complex the sound is
why not look a few of those models on the main vse page?

Start below, I used the filters "keyboards" and "less than $500", seeing you quote the example of a Casio XW-P1.

But he wants a piano sound, which largely rule s out analog synths.

What about the DX7 (II) then?

Many voices available (including good piano sounds), it's polyphonic, and you can get one for about 200 Euros (~ $270), at least in Germany, where I live.

Sounds like a cheap workstation would work perfectly.
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...
