Yamaha SK50D

Postby DStav » Thu Aug 21, 2014 8:33 pm

I was searching for used synths, as I want to buy one, and I came across a YAMAHA SK50D ("in excellent condition"), for 120€, which is about $160. I was hoping if you could tell me how much should I lower the price (the seller says it's not their final price). Also, does anyone know its weight?

Thanks!!!

Well, IMHO it's excellent price if it's working. I would pay, grab it and run before seller changes his mind ;-) (except it isn't possible to run with it, as it is quite heavy ;-) )

The spec page in the manual omits the weight...but it's like 45" x 25" so you know it's gonna be heavy
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

The tone of the synth side is very pleasing, the String/Organ/Brass stuff is not bad but the new Waldorf covers that just as well. Ive had the SK10 and SK20.
You always want just one more Synth!

Hi. I have a beautiful SK-30, purchased it last week. Im having a problem with de volume and sustain pedals. The ones I have are not working. I believe it may be because of the model or the brand. Do you by chance know which one should I use? Also, the sustain pedal, does it really sustain or only switches on/off the sustain/release of the board?

Thank you very much!

I have an SK50d. It's big and fucking heavy. I love the sound. The Solo section is lovely but really simple. Poly is even more limited but you can get some great typical pads and such from it. The string sound is just presets but are nice enough. The organ is nice too, very usable.
It's a rare underated beast in my opinion and for that cheap, snap it up. I got mine cheap too. Someone was trying to sell one for £1400 on ebay not so long ago ;)
