There was a Reaktor .ens that modeled the D50, but roland shut it down... since they've "re-released" (if that's what you want to call it) copyright issues are at play again (so I am told, not that I know anything about them).

I have tried the d50 ens in the past but it isn't convincing.you get better sounds from sampled d50 patches than the ens.it also needs so much cpu power.

The Roland D-50 is quite similar to the Roland MT-32 (or so I've heard), of which there are a couple software emultions of.

1) Munt (software)
2) MT-32 Emulator (software)
3) SoundWave 32 (hardware soundcard)
Korg MS20 & Wavestation A/D, Roland Juno 60 & Juno 106 & MKS50 & D110 & MC202, Ensoniq EPS, Yamaha FB01, SP07b, Casio CZ5000 & SK1, Alesis Micron, Cakewalk Z3ta+, Propellerhead Reason, Garriton Personal Orchestra

Have you tried Augur yet? It's freeware from Smartelectronics, and you can find a link to it on www.kvraudio.com
As soon as you get this plug, go to this URL: http://ann.sounds.free.fr/
Here you'll find the Prophecy Bank, which you can download for free and it's got a lot of those glassy synth/EP sounds you may be looking for. Augur is a freeware emu of a Prophet VS.

Sorry, the above post refers to the Prophecy Bank - it's not on this site. In fact, I'm not sure where it's available now. But nevermind, DL the bank that is there, it's just as good.
