Postby eyerish » Sat Dec 09, 2006 6:55 am

Hi
I am new around here so forgive what might be an old question I have the Korg legacy collection I am new to softsynths and I have a nearly 1 second lag or latency between my keypress and the sound from the pc i have tried to make changes to lower latency but the sound quality craps out what pc system preferably a laptop would be a good choice and solve the lag
Thanks

try using asio drivers (www.asio4all.com), they can get the latency of most computers down to 10ms with little CPU consumption.
If you want the dream platform for running VSTs, it's Intel Core2Duo processors, nothing can outperform these bastards :)

If your on Windows, double check all your audio settings in the control panel and make sure they're all pointed in the right direction. Same for your host software.

yes, I would check if Legacy collection really knows which driver to use. If you've got an asio capable soundtrack, tell legacy collection to use the ASIO driver.

If you just got a generic sound card, you have to use asio for all already mentioned up there.

If lucky enough, and you've got a SB live or Audigy, you could load the KX driver that will enable ASIO and you will be able to load FX and instruments on the DSP chip.
