Sadly, it's not a perfect conversion though. There is something really wrong with the feedback distortion simulation that just creates a nasty underlying pitched growl instead of warm saturation. It is present in several of the factory presets, that end up sounding completely broken because of this. Like it's a noise modulation of an oscillator that isn't there. Specially awful when it pops up in Lead presets. The presets were obviously made on a version that doesn't have this bug. You can sort of fix it by dialing back the "Ext.input volume" knob, but that's not how it was intended.

This worked fine on the PC version.

It's registered on the arturia forum aswell by several users (me included).
It also lacks Core MIDI support, so many MIDI features don't work yet.

They have improved the GUI though, knobs and dials are larger than the PC version.
You can also pinch-zoom on the keyboard.
And, unlike the PC version, you can turn several knobs at once since you're not constrained to a mouse pointer. Unless you were using a MIDI keyboard to control the PC version of course.

I noticed the distortion noise as well. Also, the delays sound funny when you dial them back while playing. Not quite zippering but not a smooth sound like an analog delay would have,

Overall, though, i like the sound of the thing and it will undoubtedly help me find some new sounds on the real Mini.

Even if it was complete crap at least you could say you're paying ten bucks for several numdred patch sheets.

I'm sure they'll fix whatever bugs there are in an update.

The filter FM sounds just like it should, which is an area many "amateur" VST synths fail. I've heard synths that just go into some mad digital aliasing instead of the "ringmod" FM sound you're supposed to hear when you modulate filter cutoff at full resonance with an oscillator.

I'm going to do some side-by-side comparisons tonight. The iMini has some cool sounds I have never discovered on my Mini so I am going to duplicate some of the patches on the real thing.

Just be aware that the knob values on the iMini aren't necessarily the exact same value on the real Minimoog. You may have to tweak a bit to hit the right spot. Also, try to have similar output volume so one isn't louder and thus "warmer" than the other.

Good points.

I haven't done it yet so maybe tonight.

I am going to start with a couple of familiar sounds and then see if I can reporduce some of the nice pads.
