Synth part request (Roland SH-101 Motherboard)

Postby clocklife » Sat Mar 15, 2014 1:02 am

Hello!

Just picked up an SH-101, but it has some battery corrosion on the motherboard (first thing you see when you open it up it says "Synthesiser SH-101" on it.

The unit powers on but does not self-oscillate or produce any notes. When sending CV GATE to my 202, the 202 just buzzes when I press a key on the 101.

Might have to part it out, but would MUCH prefer to get it going, as I would like to swap out my MC-202 for the SH-101.

Thanks a ton!

Rudi

Is there a specific part you are looking for? There should have been a plastic cover to separate the batteries from the circuit board. If you see the circuit board when you remove the batt cover and you have signs of battery leakage that is bad news I'm afraid. Battery acid does lots of damage to components and circuit traces...

My tech at Audio Electronics in Dallas has retraced leads for 3 PolySix synths who suffered battery acid leaks. I'm sure he can so the same for your 101.

The components themselves do not look damaged, it is the board that has been compromised! What a drag.

I'd post a couple photos if I knew how.

I will try Audio Electronics in Dallas, Thank you!
