Still possible to find empty flash simm cards for the e-mu u

Postby HUBA » Sat Apr 14, 2012 2:48 pm

Anyone know if it's still at all possible anymore to find those empty flash simm card things for burning your own sounds onto, or if maybe there are other similar cards that might work like that with the ultras and command stations?

Yes, you can still find them. Last one I saw was $269, and you still need an E4 sampler to burn them.

I thought any of the ultras would work for that?

Ok thanks. Does anybody know if these were made exclusively for the e-mu samplers or if similar cards were used as memory cards or other things and could be found as something not related to the e-mu samplers?

There were somewhat similar cards made for other applications but i dont think they are interchangeable.

Here you go, $314.

I read somewhere that it's possible to burn such a card in an E-mu sampler, and then use it in one of their command stations. Is this correct? Could be really cool

you can burn it in an E4 series (EIV/e6400/e5600, it might require an Ultra not sure) and use it in and Emu rompler that uses Proteus 2000 type ROMs.

That's the idea. Supposedly it requires an ultra to burn these cards. I wonder if it would also be possible to create your own riffs. That would be super awesome. Would be cool if someone who have tried this could comment.

'blank ROMs'?

do you mean the sample memory cards (which are Flash RAM) or system ROMs or burned non-flash sample memory? Haven't seen the burned cards in years...

I don't think that is what he was asking about. There were a few places that could burn custom sample ROMs...
