oberheim dpx-1... creating disks on a pc?

Postby 8bit9bot » Sun May 27, 2012 12:53 am

ok... the oberheim dpx-1 seems like a very ideal sample replayer... able to support disks from the mirage, akai s900, emulator ii, and prophet 2000 - it contains the emulator ii filters so its especially accurate for those sounds...

that being said... its not a sampler... you cannot create your own samples and make a disk using the dpx-1 alone

is there any pc software for creating custom disks for any of the supported disk formats? dos, windows, atari st, or amiga? if i could create my own disks usable w/ the dpx-1... using a computer... i think it would be one of the ultimate hardware options for samples

any thoughts?

i know about emxp... its all about conversion between formats... apparently it can create multi-sample patches from scratch for emulator 1 only (a new feature) - the dpx1 is not compatible w/ emulator 1 anyway - i'm looking for something where i could create perhaps an akai s900 disk w/ my own samples and patches on it... just from my pc... and then be able to load it in the dpx1

i'm not really finding anything for this purpose... time to look into a different machine

Oh, the link DPX tools didn't come out because he's using domain masking. Here is what you asked for:

ah that looks very VERY useful... however i still am not sure how to insert my own samples into a disk like that - but whatever... the only samples i wanted to throw on there were linndrum and drumulator samples... im sure can find many pre-made disks with similar or the same sounds im looking for
