Korg Trinity MSB LSB

Postby dexus » Wed Oct 15, 2008 7:26 pm

Hi !
How can I control my Sonic Cell sound module with my Korg Trinity?
Roland US told me that the Sonic Cell uses Midi RX channel 16 by default and the MSB 85 and LSB 0.
How do I find these settings in the Korg Trinity?

Somebody help me please

msb and lsb are typically used to change the program - or patch bank, in a synth that can store more than 127 sounds (bank A, Bank B etc... )
so...

Seeing that that is what you're mentioning - I'm assuming thats what you want to control from the Trinity? Yes?

This thread should be in the help thread. but anyway:
In the Trinity Global Mode, Page 1 make sure that the Trinity is in the Post KBD mode instead of Pre TG. Select Global midi channel to 16 or simply adjust the receive channel of the Sonic Cell to whatever Global Midi Channel selected in the Trinity. In page 2 click enable program/bank change, as well as control change and other necessary preferences.
I never bother with the MSB (as bank number in mm) or LSB (bb) in the Trinity's term of Bank change parameter.
For more detail information, the manual can be downloaded here, just in case. The combination of both is very nice, reminded me of my early set up consisting just the Trinity Pro and the JV-1080. What I did is just turn off the program/bank change and edit the JV-1080 directly and save the setting in one of the performance patches. Not sure about the Sonic Cell structure though, supposed to be easier to work with rather than the older JV module.

I men´t that I can´t find the settings in the Trinity Edit mode. I tried to shift in Global to the right midi ch
but the sonic cell responds on ch 16 and the other channels at the same time.
I wan´t to change the performance in user mode on the S.Cell

If It's like some performance which is a layer of several "parts" on one channel (some kind of a combi mode). Try to look for "part" and change it to a different number on the Sonic Cell.
