Dead Korg DW8000

Postby man-009 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 2:34 am

my korg DW8000 has been sitting for 7 years. took it out of storage today. but it would not turn on. i put in a new battery, ( the right way ) the fuse is still good. ( tested it ) powercord is good. but it still wont turn on? what else could it be? my guess is the internal power supply maybe is bad? trying to think what else would keep it from powering up? tried sockets in all the rooms just incase. nothing..dead.

Ya PSU is first suspect, how do the caps look? They dry out or leak if left unused for a long time. This is why we should power cycle equipment. That's a standard problem with any electronics device. I don't think there are any typical problems with the DW8000, but I may well be wrong.
