Roland briefcase-style synth?

Postby Cantoped » Sat Feb 15, 2014 6:29 pm

Hi everyone,
I've been going through the Synths pages in search of an old synth that my dad used to have, but I can't find anything that exactly matches my hazy memory of it (I only got a brief look at it about 3 years ago). I believe it was Roland, just a keyboard-style analog synth. I want to say it might have been an SH-5 or SH-7, but I'm pretty sure it was a case-style like the Moog Sonic Six - you open it up like a guitar case and there are controls on the top of the case and the keyboard is on the bottom. Did Roland ever make such a synth, or was I hallucinating? Any other probable Roland synths, or briefcase-style synths?
Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is the SH-3 / SH-3A - a monosynth with a removable lid, but all the controls are to the left of the keyboard.
