A video featuring a bearded guy and me wearing no pants...

Postby Sexor » Wed Apr 16, 2014 1:43 am

So here's another video for this project which I produce, called Berndsen.

The song is called Monster Forest

Watch on youtube.com

For those interested in the music production side of it, we have drums programmed in Reaper, some fretless bass action by a friend, a bit of TR-808 percussion, then synth basslines courtesy of Jupiter-6, and a lot of other synthy goodness on the track like MS20, SH-101, EmulatorII, Teisco SX-400 and Fender Rhodes. A big part of it goes through an RE-201. Even the fretless bass made a round through the Space Echo, with all the settings on dry, just to get that 80's tape bass sound. To top it off, another friend played a guitar solo which I layered with some of my backing vocals, plus some bird sounds recorded in a Swedish forest.

Videowise, this was a $0 budget project, using all borrowed equipment. For a whole weekend, this fancy RED camera was not in use for a film project my friend was shooting, so we got to mess around with its awesome high frame rate modes. It took a while to edit, but it all clicked together in the end.

And yes, I am that other guy, wearing no pants. :headbang:

Looks and sounds great. God, the quality off that RED is unreal, compared to the better DSLRs. Nice getting to use that bad-boy for free!

Gotta be honest, I clicked 'play' just to see you without pants.

Other than that slightly embarrassing fact - kick ass job! The video is well shot and edited, and the music got my head bobbin!
