Akai S612 Save Problem

Postby tucara » Wed May 23, 2007 9:51 pm

I have an Akai S612 and the MD280 disk drive with a whole bunch of disks. These were bought used from two seperate people. I can take and modify samples just fine and can even load samples from the disks that were left on there by the previous owners. But for some reason I can't seem to write. I've checked that the write tabs are still in place, so that's not the problem.

One would think that the save/load would either both work or both not work since they use the same head. Any thoughts?

Try removing the big connector between the sampler and the disk drive, and then reseating it. If that doesn't help matters, try the verify option after attempting to write a disk. This will tell you whether or not thae data was actually transfered to the disk sucessfully.
