For the sake of posterity-
Search before you post. In the dark about EQ? Wondering what the hell 'soft elbow' means? Which rack/pedal has the warmest plate reverb? Make a search first and browse this forum before you ask "which distortion sounds best on a synth?"
No stupid versus topics. period. they are annoying and pointless. do your own research, make up your own mind. we are all here to share knowledge and have a moderately good time. when you treat us like a friggin oracle for your own pedantic meanderings we dont like it.
No polls unless absolutely necessary. if you love polls you should be hanging out at a different kind of forum...
No flaming. This is an obvious one. acting like an asshole will get you ridiculed, abused, edited, mistreated, locked, banned, verbally beaten, and all sorts of other bad things.
No whining. If your thread gets moved or deleted dont publicly gripe and moan. I hate that more than anything. Before you privately message some mewling load of crap, think, "is this going to make the situation better or worse?" i get lots of messages a day. I wont respond if i dont think i need to, but i will remember you if you act like a jackass. (i keep a list in my notepad)
Karma works two ways. if you act like a douche bag in other parts of the forum, you wont be posting in here either. flaming someone in general? i will remember that. banned from HC KSS? i talk to plenty of people from there. I am a teacher by profession, you wont slip much by me.
violation of these rules might get your thread locked, edited, deleted, or moved. deal with it.
i quite enjoy the Sound Production forum which is yet to be plagued by the masses of lazy sacks that have ruined General synths. I will step on whoevers throat i have to to keep it that way.
anyhow, i am here to help too. good ideas for a sticky? let me know. there a large group of people on here that produce and engineer albums as a profession, so treat it as such.
