While you get two sets of most features on a 700s they cut back in the VCO department if you had two 700S synths to compare an 800DV with. What you really have are two sets of a VCO and a sub-osc. The single ring mod works between the 2 VCOs so they definitely saved some money by not giving you an actual 4 VCO machine which would likely do bigger sounding leads.
