I'm a fan or the TG500 (SY85 module version) strings and airy/breathy pads in the performance mode and don't think that the micron would have the similar "rompler" type goodness. But as said, the micron (Ion here) is way better in emulating those sounds within analog context, with better filter, engine, modulation, etc. Also I would prefer the micron for synthesizing Bell and other digital type sounds which could be different from the more alike "rompler" style bell. The synth got character that I like in the way of mimicking older synth, which is different from some more modern sounding VA if that's what you are looking. But agree that the SY85 got character and good sounding/versatile fx part which is surprisingly good for a rompler of it's age.
