Roland saturn 09 SA-09

Postby monolith » Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:34 am

I've always wanted a combo organ, and from what I gather this is not unlike one.
Does anyone here have a saturn? I'd love to hear about it. any info is welcome. as are clips, vids etc.
Thanks!

I have one and I don't really see much sense in releasing products like that. At least 4 octaves would justify its existence.

Hey, thanks a lot for posting that! I really dig the sound, but it does indeed have a horribly short keyboard. There was a section in the middle of that which reminded me of that old arcade game 'Ghouls and Goblins'.

Thanks again! =D>

I have always wanted one! Such tiny and delightful polyphony!

i love my RS-09. 3 octaves of keys and some transposition is usually enough for me though.

great demo, jexus!

I just knew you would chime in for some reason. :)
I want one to play with my band, and the small size is actually quite welcome in this case.

Anyone know of any musicians of note who used one? The only example I know of is Robert Fripp, who used one on the first tour or two of the 1980s King Crimson lineup, and I suspect it might be the organ Fripp is listed as playing on KC's 1982 album Beat. It may possibly have turned up on his 1982 collaboration with Andy Summers I Advance Masked.
Keys: Realistic Concertmate 500, Korg K25, Korg Micro X

Guits: '86 Fender Japan '50s Reissue Strat, '80 Aria Pro II TS-300 Thor Sound

I just picked up a saturn for $150AU. Should be fun. Thanks for the demos jexus and guitarsandsynths

Have either of you guys used the gate out on it?

Am I right to believe that one can process the Saturn's waveforms through my sh-2's filter and Envelope?
