there is a very slim chance you would need to cannibalize one machine for another.

pics wont help, sorry. however, if you can tell if the CMOS ic's are socketed or not, you can eyeball whether or not there are several more hours of tech work, or not. if not socketed, add 2+hrs of labor on that job.

The SH board is pretty simple, anyone with an oscilloscope should be able to follow the CV's back from the 4 outputs of the SH board towards the DAC and see where they stop working.

I don't know if a pic of the inside would enable anyone to diagnose the problem but I, for one, would like to see the insides of the thing. I have one but i have never opened it (even though there is a penny or something rattling around inside of it...)

Mine works great with one small exception. One of the voices is sometimes off, meaning that every fourth note played sounds several steps sharp.

This happens every once in a while and then the problem goes away by itself.

When it is not having that problem everything seems to be A-OK. I love the ring modulation and I also love the sliders for the LFO which allow me to easily select what I want to modulate.

I used the CS-50 (as well as the Big Briar Etherwave theremin) when I played with The Analog Synthesizer Ensemble in 2007:
