Yamaha DX27 - noise problem with low notes

Postby richardb2000 » Tue Dec 08, 2009 11:21 pm

Hi,

I have just purchased a Yamaha DX27 and am having a problem with background noise / distortion that is coming out with each note i play whether through an amp or headphones(note there is no noise when nothing is played).

The noise (like a hiss at a weird frequency) becomes more prominant the lower the note i play and at the very low end the notes completely dissappear with just the noise. The high notes sound much better but the nosie is still there in the background.

Does anyone know what may be causing this / if there is anything i can try to do to fix this?

Thanks in advance
Rich

You've got yourself a problem with the transistors/op-amps. Could be an IC failing. Need to check this out.
