Ensoniq Mirage and the EPS

Postby GooGoo » Tue May 04, 2010 7:43 pm

Hi, I'm having a hard time finding an Ensoniq Mirage at the moment in the UK (anyone want to sell one in the UK or in Europe if you can ship it cheaply).

Anyway, how do the EPS and EPS 16(+) sound when a Mirage disk is convert loaded into these machines?

Trying to keep my options open....apart from an Oberheim DPX-1.

Thanks.

They sound really close unless you had a patch with resonance on the Mirage. I personally rarely mess with resonance on samples which is exactly why I sold the Mirage for an Eps16.

Thanks......I have heard conflicting reports about the sound. Some say it sounds a bit odd.

While you are waiting to find a Mirage, perhaps you'd want to check out this softsynth emulation. Some former Mirage and EPS fans seem to like it well enough. At least you'd be able to have some fun with something similar before you get the hardware.
