Siel DK70 - Anyone Want to Repair?

Postby GameChanger » Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:08 pm

Hi All,
I just acquired a Siel DK70, was very excited about it, but when I turn on, every light & button works perfectly, but I am getting no sound. I hooked up MIDI IN and didn't hear any sounds either. I downloaded the manual, but
couldn't find anything regarding a factory reset. Unit seems to be in great shape (inside and out). Hoping someone can help? Am hoping I can solve this somehow.

Thanks

How are your synth programming skills? Have you tried going through each parameter to create a basic test patch?

thanks for the reply. Yup, I am decently handy with programming synths, so I have tried each parameter & I'm still getting no signs of sound. Technically I have basic soldering skills (backlights, batteries, etc...) but I opened up the unit and all looks pretty clean & together. The manual is pretty vague, and I know these boards aren't very common, which kinda leaves me in dead water if I can't figure it out.

If it's anything like the Bit One (very likely, same factory) then there is no factory reset. Maybe someone else who actually owns one will chime in. Try an Italian synth site?

So its kinda weird, Ive been looking a ton of places, and no tech wants to mess with this. Not sure why, its such a small board, should prob be an easy fix. Half the techs never get back to me and the other half say they have never mess'd with a Siel. Anyhow, I know many of you on this board are very handy. Would anyone want to try to repair or look at this for me? I would obviously pay you. Just hate having this just sit in my closet. Internally, its supposedly VERY similar to a Poly800. Anyhow, please PM if you can help.

Can you find anyone with the circuits for this? I could take a look at those first if possible
