Jomox Xbase 09 - the thing I'm looking for?

Postby Polarelch » Thu Jun 02, 2011 12:49 pm

Hey I just contacted someone offering an Xbase 09.
I have been long looking for a drum machine / groovebox that can also sequence external synths.
First, I narrowed it down to a Machinedrum or Monomachine - or an Electribe for the budget solution, never really got into AKAI MPCs. But I wasn't really satisfied cos they are all digital.
For some reason, Xbase 09 never came into my mind, but now that I looked at it it seems like the thing I want!

It's offered for 450 EUR in good condition.
As far as I read into it, it offers 3 tracks, 2 of them being analog kick / snare, + 3 external midi tracks?
So I could control - say - my Mopho Desktop for the bass track?
Is it possible to save whole songs - i.e. sequences of different patterns?
I will also read the manual, but it'll be good to talk here as well I guess.

What should I look after when buying, i.e. when testing - is there something that might be a widespread issue - or is it a safe bet in any case?
Any more opinions about this one?

no it's not what you're looking for. afaik you cannot really programm note information, only midi on / off (and I guess it's a fixed note on each track, since this is for drum sequencing). if I'm wrong I might actually use this machine again ;)

There are also three additional sequencer tracks. The notes are sent via Midi to control up to three different outboard sound sources like a synth, another drum machine or whatsoever. Notes and length is controlled easily by the knobs on the XBase09 front panel.
