Korg Trident MK1 battery replacement

Postby philip » Tue May 08, 2012 5:37 pm

My tech has gone, but before that he installed me a new battery into my Trident MK1.Unfortunately with this battery it seems patches saves incorrect.
So, a couple of questions;

1)Where to find battery in trident 1?
2)I suspect he installed me a new lithium battery, that does not work, so I need to know what is the native battery of MK1, how it looks like, and can I purchase this anywhere?

Thanx

I need one too, haven't had time to get to it yet..
It's a Sanyo N-SB2 2.4V

I found these links:
http://www.globalmachineparts.com/Product/Details/N-SB2-2.4V
or

http://www.batterybob.com/product.asp?intProdID=305016

I haven't ordered yet, been too busy.
Let me know if you do and if it works out.

Cheers.

Hi.

What's the diffrence between the first link battery and the second one? The first one yellow - is like native one? What about leakage disease?

And where to find the battery in trident?

Are you sure about those batteries at all? Here it says Trident and Poly6 have the same Varta 3.6V. Can it be replaced with Sanyo 2.4v????

That 2.4V battery won't work. The battery should be at least 3V to retain patches in memory...

Weird, my trident has that same yellow 2.4v battery... Somewhere on this page there are mentions about it:

I don't know, both seem to have the same specs...
You guys are making me doubt here.

But to find the battery: Open up the 'hood' and dissasemble the synth section ( knobs and board screws ) , the battery is located on the synth section board.

They seem to have the same debate about the 2 batteries.

Philip, I'm curious if you open open up your Trident which battery it has.

I'll be able to make it the day after tomorrow. As I said earlier, he must be installed the lithium battery which is not working properly. I'll make some photos.

If he installed a lithium I hope he disabled the charging circuit with a diode...

So philip, did you by any chance get around to check what battery you had in it?
