Im going to check out 2 modules going quite cheap and could not resist.
Its the Roland jv2080 & MKS50. I was wondering if there are software editors for the PC (preferably free
) and if not can I access all the parameters from the lcd screen and buttons? I dont think Im going to get hold of a PG-300 controller any time soon...
or can I control sysex or parameters on the boxes with a device like a korg nano control or any of the million other controllers out there?
There is also a Roland MDC 1 Sound expansion Module for a similar price but not sure Im feeling that rich (or should I just do it?)
Are they worth getting? I like allsorts of music from ambient bleep to House/hip-hop, funk and electro. I also just got hold of a sh-1000 cheap so I guess Ill just sequence the audio rather than midi.
To be honest I have not made music for a while and my Atari is on the shelf along with the Dr T software but I got some Cubase software and am feeling inspired again and cant face he whole softsynth thing right now.
p.s. How many outputs do the boxes have? My old proteus1 has 8 I think and its pretty useful.
p.p.s It would be a useful addition to VS reviews to have a view of the back of the box's and also I quite liked the RRP (price) when it was sold
p.p.p.s First post!
