Or you could buy $300 POS PC, clean out the crapware, and have something 2x faster, that comes with 2x or 4x the amount of RAM

well I took a look into things and I refreshed the OS on my PC to be as basic as possible.. sans crapware.

This did a major improvement overall for the PC, boots faster, etc.

I got ahold of Korg's MonoPoly, M1 and Art's Jupiter8 and they hold up pretty well.. actually I'm a bit in awe in how good it now sounds.

I get a little latency from key press to reaction sometimes, but the annoying clicks/pops, glitches seem to have suddenly vanished.
My old OS must have had a huge pothole of an interrupt going on.

I've also began to take at heart whats said about going virtual. I like my real gear, but its a huge PITA to setup.. cables, mixer, etc.
I may begin to sell some hardware and fund a better PC in the near future.

Thanks for all your input.

Yeah, having half a dozen 61-key synths may look really cool, but it's a bitch to wire them up in a small space..and you get those wires crossing the floor or hanging in the way and trip over them, causing disaster. I once pulled my Juno106 off the stand by tripping on the audio cable, broke off two keys :(
