that said, if someone actually cancels the BIN price w/ a bid, wonder what it'll go for.

Say what you will, this is a fairly rare synth in virtually pristine condition. I don't think $6,500 (negotiated down to perhaps $6,100 at the store in a face-to-face negotiation) is outside of the realm of reasonableness.

I bought three of these when they were around $40 on ebay. Still waiting for people to start name dropping the artists and albums that these were on. :?

No real qualms with the $6500 price. A bit high, but not worth posting here just for that.
I was just saying in store it was marked w/ a $6500 price tag, then they shoved it on eBay with an $8100 BIN.
Just funny to see eBay games 'n' attitudes in the wild.

Wasn't the Octave Cat creator recently selling some NOS OC's that were even cheaper than this starting bid?

Why is it that everyone with an AX-60 thinks it's made out of gold? And this one has missing slider caps and isn't exactly in pristine condition:

The BIN of $815 pushes the price into Stupidville.

NZ collective insanity over anything 'vintage' strikes again. TR-505 at $151 and still going strong. Let's see where the final bid ends up:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instrume ... 663580.htm

I thought the only selling point of these was the fact that THEY ARE CHEAP.

EDIT: Auction ended @ $173. f**k s**t.

Yeah, if you pay more than $75 for one of these, you're a sucker. Why? Because TR-505s seriously suck. I found out the hard way.

Is that the "Industrial special edition" JP-8000? Guaranteed not to make any techno-type sounds...
Fairlight IIx (Mid-Life Crisis - cheaper than a Corvette!)
Roland JP-8, D-50, S-50, S-550(2x), S-760(2x), JX-3P, JD-800
EII, Emax II, Minimoog, ARP 2600, P-5 Rev.1 (broken...), Pro-One, Crumar Performer, K1m, K5m, MS-2000B, Virus KC, a few other things.

Nevermind the fact there's been an identical one sitting there BIN for exactly half the price ...

Oh come on, seriously?!

Casio PT-20 auction
Image

Yeah it's a cool toy, but not for two hundred and twenty goddamn dollars. BIN is $240.

The worst part is, I'll bet some chumpface will buy it and then for the next decade every sleazy estate sale dealer who finds one in some deceased grandma's attic will insist it's a gold brick and cite this auction as proof.

BTW I'm still kicking myself for not buying the SK-10 I found at a thrift shop for $3 last year.

Edit: oh, ha ha there's another one on the same site for the still-out-to-lunch-but-not-as-utterly-absurd price of $60. Good luck with your gold brick up there. What did these cost new, like $39.90? At toy stores?
