Crumar Bit 99 Fuse Holder Needed

Postby osgoodeian » Thu Jan 09, 2014 1:06 am

Hello,
The fuse holder on my Crumar Bit 99 is dead and I have no idea where it is or what kind it was.
Does anybody have one of these for sale or have a pic I can see to try to get a new one?

Thanks

Welcome to the board!

Give us a little more information to go with your problem: Why do you think it's the fuse holder?

Looks (from a schematic) that there are 4 fuses. Most likely they are in holders mounted on the power supply board, although the one in the main A.C. line may be by itself near where the line cord enters the case.

Thank you! It's the 500 Ma fuse by the AC input.
I've got the fuse, the spring and the inner metal clip but no cap to screw in - you know
the little doodad you have to thread in?

OK. What country are you in? Farnell, Futurelec if you're in Europe, Mouser if you're in the US.

Does this look anything like it?

I'm not sure. The plastic cap broke off the end and I can't locate it.
I was hoping someone with a Crumar Bit 99 synth could post a pic of theirs.

I'm in Canada. I'm hoping to be able to just replace the fuse cap end.

This is a common problem with these. It's a standard size panel mount fuse holder. The cap is unobtanium so you will have to replace the whole thing, probably less than a dollar to buy, easy to do if you can solder.
