@Ugly Goblin Boy...
It is an odd machine, it takes me a long time to get it to sound good. I don't know why, but I hate the preset sound you get when you choose a 'machine' (or synthesis method). I find it odd that they set it to have a bit of decay and release when you set it. Most other synths when you initialize them have 0 attack, 0 decay, 127 sustain, and 0 release (or some iteration of that so you just hear note on when you play a note, and note off when you release). It makes the monomachine sound really weak the way it's set up. I'm usually very disappointed with it until I shape the sounds a lot. Sometimes, I'm just too disappointed with it (probably all my fault) and give up.
I'm also not really that excited about 4 bar loops. I know I can just change patterns, but there's something to be said about being able to have at least 8 bars, for me at least.
The last annoyance: Patterns do not contain their own tempo's, only songs do... I know about the work-arounds, it's just worth pointing that out to anyone interested in the machine.
That said, Elektron have a freaking awesome way of allowing you to make music, and sometimes my mind is just in the mood for that design.
