Hi! I've been using the Korg DW-8000 (a lot) for two years and became big fan of it. For that reason, I always kept an eye opened for a DSS-1 in the local ads knowing it was even more awesome. And I finally found one! It's as cool as I thought it would be. Best way I found so far to get PPG-esque tones and am very satisfied with it.
But I'm disappointed by only one thing: the VCFs would not go into self-oscillation the same way they do on the DW-8000 (which does it in a wondeful, progressive way). Apparently both synths use the same custom KORG chips - makes sense to my ears anyway. I've read there's a way to ajust trim pots on the board in order to make them scream but no precise info about it. So I'm just wondering if any of you have ever done that adjustment on theirs? Is it risky to give it a try? Thanks
