Korg ElecTribe A (EA-1)

Korg ElecTribe A Image

"When you're laying down your next big groove, you need the phattest, most aggressive analog synth sounds possible. You need to call on the 'Tribe. Korg's new ELECTRIBE series uses the ultimate in analog modeling to give you the richest, most versatile analog-style sounds out there. And with unlimited real-time control of every sound parameter, you know your sound will be just that -- yours."

"The ELECTRIBE A is a compact analog modeling synth box that lets you create analog synthesizer, bass, and sound effect sounds simply - just tweak the knob that controls each element of the sound as on an analog synthesizer. Operation is easy and intuitive because the results of moving the knobs are reflected immediately in the sound. The sounds you create on this compact synthesizer can be input to the internal sequencer to create phrases."

"Volume dynamics and filter frequencies of the sounds or patterns you create can be modified using the knobs. You can record these changes into the sequencer precisely as you make them. Use this capability to create continuous shifts in the sounds or to gradually apply an effect, creating phrases that include tonal changes. Phrases you create can be stored as a pattern that includes a chosen knob movement, and up to 256 1 to 4-bar patterns can be stored in internal memory."

"The ELECTRIBE A can also be controlled from an external sequencer, keyboard, or sampler to function as an analog sound tone generator, or set up to control or be controlled by other hardware or computer-based sequencers." - Korg-USA The ElecTribes are used by Orbital, Crystal Distortion and Cirrus.

I will also take a money order or personal check for the two EA-1 units as I understand not everyone has a paypal account.

I just feel paypal is the most secure method for both parties.

The $20 deposit will be used towards Canada Post shipping to basically anywhere in the world and includes tracking. Even if shipping works out to be more than $20. (Which I'm sure it will be)

For further details contact me at:

Cheers!

I have two Korg Electribe EA-1 units which I would like to trade for one EA-1 MKII version.

I request that a fee of $20 is paid in order to hold both units until your shipped unit arrives.

I will create a paypal invoice for you in the amount of $20 with details on the transaction such as serial numbers and terms of return. I guarantee that both units will not arrive DOA and will be shipped within three days after me receiving your MKII model.

For what it is, it's fantastic. The analog modeling doesn't sound ANYTHING like real analog of course, but it's still good in it's own way. The best thing about these units is the fact that they are inexpensive, easy to use, and great for live jamming. The mkII versions of the Electribes are basically exactly the same except that they are built more solidly.. aside from that there's very little difference. If you can find an Electribe for under $100, pick it up. They are worth the money. With an EA-1 and ER-1 you can make damn near anything.. best for techno styles though. :)

I had one given to me a couple of years ago, and after this time I have come to think about purchasing another just to have 4 parts. I mean this little unit is probably, "in my mind" the best and most innexpensive synth out there, including midi. Amazing bass lines can be created with the EA-1, along with great melodies. I love it, and will never sell it. Too much fun and it brings out the creativity in me.

super fun. try running a vocal sample in the audio in and tempo syncing the delay to a drum machine and gate the vocal patterns. love it for the acid sounds with the saw wave, other sounds are not always useful. bought it for 150 and have thought about selling it a few times now but something always makes me keep it.

you can hear it in my songs @ www.soundcloud.com/resting-cell
