Korg Z1

Korg Z1 Image

The Z1 is like a polyphonic Prophecy in a workstation! It does all the analog sounds and more. This is a great analog modeling synth with 12-voice polyphony, thirteen waveforms, four LFOs, two resonant filters, two effects units and more. The ability to create unique sounds is endless. The factory patches could use some help, but overall the sound is very nice! It has a fully polyphonic arpeggiator that blows all others away. It has five preset arpeggio patterns and fifteen user patterns. Unfortunately there is no on-board sequencer. There is incredible real-time control available with knobs to control the two resonant filters, and a touch controlled 'XY' pad for tweaking patches in real-time. The Z1 is used by KMFDM, Gary Numan, LTJ Bukem and Orbital.

I agree, Zee (the) ONE is really N1 - digital magic. After 4 years of programming and playing I feel satisfaction.Sometimes not easy to tweak real analog sound, but if you will be patient, the result will come. Great for experimental and score movie production.

This is REAL Synth! Except some acoustic, it can do ALL what you want!

Nice keyboard touch (for synth-action key), nice aftertouch.
X-Y is good for some effects, but not usable every time.
Changing program cost 1-1.5 seconds.
Need some tricks for playing in multitembral mode clearly.

P.S.: Now i looking for Korg Prophecy, cause i know - this is REAL synth too!

This is one of the best Korg synths ever made. The tweaking and programming options are endless. The factory patches is OK, but play with it and you get breathtaking sounds. The arp is awesome. The expansion card is recommended. It sounds fat and very analogue.
I bought mine for 800 dollars and that's a great buy. For people who are looking for a superb VA synth, try this if you can get one. A programmers dream.
A must try or buy.
