Reason offers 8 high quality effects units with professional features and sounds. They can be hooked up to Aux sends/Returns, inserted into Chain connection points on the mixer and in many other creative ways and with as much flexibility as real gear in a real studio! All controls can be tweaked in real-time and automated into your songs. All modules feature a Bypass/On/Off switch too.
RV-7 Digital Reverb. This is a quality reverb module with 10 different algorithms: a few Halls, Rooms, and Gated verbs. Control knobs for Size, Decay, Damp and Dry/Wet mix are there too.
DDL-1 Digital Delay Line. A great stereo delay offering two modes: Step or Milliseconds. In milliseconds, the DDL-1 can be adjusted from 1 to 2000ms of delay time (up to 2 seconds). In Step mode there are 1 to 16 steps of beat-locked delay-time with adjustable 1/16 or 1/8T note durations for each echo. There are control knobs for Feedback (number of repeats), Pan, and Dry/Wet mix.
CF-101 Chorus/Flanger. This simple effect has controls for Delay time, Feedback amount, LFO Rate, and LFO Mod amount. What's more, the Delay and LFO Rate can be modulated by an external CV source from some other module like the Matrix sequencer or Subtractor polysynth.
PH-90 Phaser. Another simple but cool effect with controls for Frequency, Split, Width, Feedback, LFO Rate, and LFO Mod amount. As with the Chorus module, the PH-90 also features CV inputs to control the Frequency or LFO Rate from an external source in your Reason rack.
D-11 Foldback Distortion. No analog software synth would be complete these days without distortion! The D-11 has Amount and Foldback (shape) controls and can be applied to anything in your Reason rack to add bite, grit, dirt, noise, etc.
COMP-01 Compressor. This full featured stereo compressor/limiter with compression ratio settings from 1:1 to 1:16. Additional controls for Threshold, Attack, and Release. There is also a nice LED Gain Reduction display (-36dB to +36dB) emulated to show the amount of compression being applied.
PEQ-2 Two-Band Parametric EQ. For fine tuned EQing that the ReMix mixer can't achieve, look no further than the PEQ-2. It has controls for Frequency, Q width, and Gain amount for each band. There is also a great graphic display of your EQ curve. The frequency control can be controlled by external CV too.
ECF-42 Envelope Controlled Filter. For a dedicated filter to apply to individual sounds, tracks or your entire mix, the ECF-42 is well equipped. It offers 12dB Band-Pass, Low-pass and 24dB Low-pass filtering. Control knobs are available to tweak the Frequency Cutoff, Resonance, Envelope Amount, Velocity, and an ADSR envelope. External CV can be used to control the Frequency Cutoff, Resonance amount and the envelope's Decay time.
