Moog Taurus II

The Taurus is an interesting synth, it's a pedal synthesizer with essentially the same synth engine as the Rogue. A very basic synth with only sawtooth or square waveforms. But these waveforms go low and their bass sounds are great. The pedal controller outputs cv/gate so it can be used to control other synths as well. The synth section has an external source input for the filter, and there are portamento, pitch and mod wheels too! Not at all a bad synth, and it is a very unique addition to any studio. But can you play with your feet?

Hey
I play guitar, limited synth experience.
I've found a T2 locally, pedals only, for $100.00.
I should immediately buy them, right?
The idea is to use the T2 with the Minitaur
The seller says he's not sure if they work, and has no way to test them.
But he does have a Prodigy and Micromoog.
Will either of those devices connect to the T2 for testing purposes?
Cheers,.................

Bought one when they came out in the 70's.Got a second by buying controller and pedalboard separately.Great synth.Used it a lot live.Used it while playing bass.Accompanied voice&guitar for solo and duet gigs.Used it for bass sounds, synth bass and synth sounds.Dark Side of the Moon stuff, Lucky Man,etc. It has a great sound. The 1 1/2 octave is essential. One octave would be too limiting.Being able to control it while standing is essential. I agree that anyone who doesn't appreciate the TII doesn't know how to make a Moog talk. They can only play presets.

Anyone that downs the T-II just has not taken the time to explore it's full potencial. I used one for years and like any wave form synth you have to lock down and woodshed it out. I used it not just as a bass pedal but a full out (mono) synth.
I would not recommend them however for anyone unless your expectations or desires are to go beyond the T-I's presets...too much work but a blast once you master it.

Let's get this confusion about Mrk 1's and Mrk 2's cleared up. They are not the same thing at all. Poles apart.
A Mrk1 is essentially a Minimoog circuit but with a slightly fatter filter, similar to an early R.A mini... and a Mrk2 pratically identical to a Rogue circuit but with only 2 waveforms. The only thing they have in common is both being called a "Tauras" really.

I have a set but when I got them the higher pedals are out of key/tune, I heard you can tune four pedals at a time or something. I have both pieces but no manual. I heard the way to tune them is in the back with a screwdriver, but this doesn't seem right. Anyone know how to tune them?
