Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer

Roland TR-909 Image

The TR-909 is an awesome analog drum machine! THE standard House and Techno beatbox. Sounds include kick, snare, hand clap, open and closed hi hats, low mid and hi toms, rim shot, ride and crash cymbals. Sounds are tweakable - attack, tone, tuning, decay, snap and accent. This machine does not sound like true acoustic drums, and we don't want it to. It has a unique and very loveable analog sound that's all its own!

It is armed with Roland's DIN Sync and MIDI, individual outputs, external memory cartridges, and an essential shuffle & flam for great grooves. Use it as a sound module or program patterns, songs and beats into it...either way you'll be in analog drum heaven with the 909!

Yes if they properly remade the 808 and 909 with just a few new features to make them a bit more modern/efficient (USB mainly) it would sell quite well, especially if it was well-priced. Korg did it with the MS-20 and it's great.

One year ago 808 and 909 in good condition was selling for £800 each. Price will crash on this one for shore. £2000 Robbed!

Exactly, and people have been on at Roland for years to remake their classics; 808 909 303 etc. And whats Korg gone and done. Made the Volca range, the MS20 re-issue, monotrons/tribes, all old tech classic stuff that sells huge numbers. As others have said, theres people at Roland that need sacking
Good Idea

Roland should remake the 808 and 909. Not digitally, not with added features, just remake them. People pay $3K for these things used. It's bizarre that they keep producing mini-laptops set in a keyboard instead. It doesn't have to be all-in-one. Just make instruments. Imagine if violin makers tried to embed a DAW in a violin. Just make a good freaking drum machine.
