Roland D-10 / D-110

Roland D-10 Image

Second generation D-50 style synthesis. The D-10 is a Digital Linear Arithmetic Synthesizer and the D-110 is its upgraded rackmount version. Capable of decent acoustic sounds and great new synth-type sounds the D-10/110 is a great and cheaper alternative to the popular D-50. It has a confusing synthesis / editing method composed of tones, partials and timbres. Basically it all boils down to tricky programming which, if you know what your doing, can have interesting and unique results. On-board drum sounds, reverb effects and internal / external memory storage are also a plus.

The D-110 rackmount version adds 6 individual outputs, and the follow-up D-20 keyboard version adds an 8-track sequencer. Definitely worth a listen for any musician on a budget! It has been used by Suzanne Vega, Future Sound of London, and Information Society.

d-110 is about the most powerfull unit i own , its ability to layer pcm sounds is great beause not only allows a split keyboard to have many instruments but can permit many sub harmonics to be generated in usual or un usual fashion...
i like the d-110 just as much as my jv-880
the overflow has weird outcome by spilling odd notes out once delimiter range is overflow.\
got to know how to use this type of unit before it becomes a success music maker.

I've had one of these and a D-5; quite a nice synth for digital stuff, but the buttons on both of mine gave me a little difficulty- double triggering or not at all. Apparently this is a common problem- worth checking up on if you're considering one.

bought when really broken kept cutting out all the time, good when it works, but that really is a rare occurrence. But i thought id say i bought a usb midi cable to plug it into ableton, and if its not working try plugging the input on the cable into the output socket on the keyboard, took me a day to find that ruddy solution.

I play d110 roland with ATARI 520 or 1024 + Prg D110
I build FX and Strings Brass sounds design for tracks...
Very complicated but insteresting for patching.
Different DX sound of yamaha. You use special ADSR system.
The mixer inside make mutlitimbral (16 instruments) & polyphonic...
It's a D10 add & with Computer a add sampler...
D110 is a good sampler for add...I like only with computer prg...
Sorry for my bad english! Bye!

What about the Roland D-5 61-note synth ?
Why is there nothing on this synth ?
The D-5 is a scaled down version of the D-10/20, (minus effects and sequencer)
