Roland D-20

Roland D-20 Image

The D-20 makes a great budget or alternative D-50. It's more closely related to the D-10 and D-110 synthesizers but adds an 8-voice sequencer with a rhythm track. The D-20 is a digital synth that employs linear arithmetic synthesis (LAS). It's a confusing synthesis / editing method composed of tones, partials and timbres. Basically it all boils down to tricky programming which, if you know what you are doing, can have interesting and unique results. Reverb effects and internal / external memory storage are also available on the D-20. Definitely worth a listen.

Wow. Awesome. Fantastic. 3 words you'll never likely use to describe a D20 lol. Even more boring than the D50, the D20 made me feel as though id wasted precious time id never get back. So, in one word to describe it: Awful.

Great synth. Awesome sound. built like a tank. I use it daily. Mine speaks to me, sparks lots of creativity for me when writing riffs. The LAS is sweet sounding and capable of programming incredible sounds.

naja its not a piano its a synthersizer and it will make weird sounds.La synthesis.Good look trying to make it sound like a classical piano. If you do you will go down in history.More modern synths (this ones ancient) use samples ie korg triton and will do a decent piano.Newer still synths will have gigabytes of samples and will faithfully reproduce any instrument sound. korg kronus being a really nice synth for this.Look forward to buying one secondhand in say 10 years when there 300 quid
