I just got one after months of waiting. Compared to the microkorg/MS2000 & Ion which I both owned I think it holds up in comparison. Some sounds recall the JD-800 but much more upfront, meaner. It can do strings, ambience and saw sounds no other VA can copy. It is the most 'polished and professional' sounding VA. Forget about the presets. Make your own Dual and Split mode patches to unlock the sickness of this synth. Ion offers a deeper synthesis engine with more mod routings and LFO options per patch - but the JP is easier to program than the Ion so its a win-win for synth novices and pros.
