Roland JP-8000

Roland JP-8000 Image

The JP-8000 Music Synthesizer has been designed using a first-of-its-kind Roland Analog Modeling sound source, combining the fat, powerful sounds associated with vintage analog synths with the flexibility of digital technology and MIDI. Like the classic Roland analog synths of the past, the JP-8000 sports a collection of 38 front-panel knobs and sliders for powerful real-time control, opening a brand new world of sonic possibilities. Innovative "Motion Control" feature memorizes all sequential slider and knob movements, ensuring that a great real-time "tweak" will not be lost. "Analog" synth functions like oscillator sync, ring modulation, -12/-24 dB filtering, cross modulation, an assignable ribbon controller and powerful pitch bend/modulation lever make the JP-8000 a very powerful synthesizer for live and studio use!

The JP-8000 is excellent for use in any music where classic synth sounds are needed. For techno, dance, drum&bass, hiphop, film scoring, synth pop and more! It is used by the Crystal Method, BT, Orbital, Ken Ishii, Vince Clarke, Goldie, Dave Holmes, Prodigy, Groove Armada, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, ATB, Überzone, Faithless, Gary Numan, Ferry Corsten, Scooter, Konflict, William Ørbit, Paul Van Dyk and Garbage.

i also disagree about the comment about sh201,i own jp8k and used to own sh201,the 201 is a great synth and deserves better feedback as it can make massive pad sounds and is better than the gaia but the jp8k has much more in its arsenal than the 201,once you get to no this beast the more in love with it you get,it just lacks the extra 2 voices the 201 has.

First of all i disagree with previous comment!SH-201 Isn't comparable to a JP-8000 "flagship"! SH-201 have half of the features missing + it sounds like garbage, thanks to the "sampled oscillators"!JP-8000 have a real "calculating" (VA) engine!Sh-201 can only be compared to GAIA SH-01/V-Synth!I have many years of experience in programming analogue synths and have played and own alot of them! And i am yet to find a (VA) synth which sounds better and more "analogue" than the JP!Well worth over 1000e+ if you can find one with working sliders and without fried "PCB" board/noisy outs!

just got one of these and to be honest i don't know what all the fuss is about,ok its good but if i was you i would save some money and buy a sh201 instead there's not a lot in them really.if you take away all the effects and just listen to the raw waveforms most synths sound the same.it has no soul compared to a juno or jx3p.

@Arik S. this is absolutely true ! analog-digital war is one of the most stupid things in the music world that i ever seen, and I've been playing keyboards since the 70's !!!
