Roland JV-1080 Super JV

Roland JV-1080 Image

The Roland JV-1080 was one of the hottest and most popular digital synthesizers ever to come from Roland. Incredible sound quality capable of emulating any instrument imaginable plus totally fat analog synth type sounds and loads of percussion! It has 64 voices of polyphony and 16 part multitimbral, it's no wonder this is part of almost every Film Score Composers set-up as well as many more artists and hobbyists!

It has 8MB of sounds and it also offers a lot of expandability with 4 expansion slots and 2 data card memory slots. You can get up to 42MB of sounds by adding any of the popular JV-80 expansion cards suited for Techno, World Instruments, Orchestral or Synthesizers. The 1080 has a large LCD screen, lots of effects and filters for creative flexibility, motion control and extensive MIDI implementation. Editing is intense but enhanced and simplified by external editors like MOTU's Unisyn. It is used by Faithless, Hardfloor, Vangelis, Scanner, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem and Apollo 440.

This has to be the winner of one of the most underrated synths of all time. Which is mainly due to the editing structure. However if you can get beyond that with a decent PC/Mac editor and are willing to learn all of the parameters of this synth and once you get into routing Things all over the place you will be able to create bass sounds and pads that honestly few others can come close to in complexity. especially when you consider these go for around 200 bucks today. i own and have owned tons of other synths and when you get down to what you can create with this one no other synth i have ever owned can come very close.

The JV-1080 is a sound arsenal. Thousands of great sounds at your finger tips. A true classic for any studio. Programing is deep and complex but can be done right from the front panel. A great all around synth.

Simply the best sounding string ensembles I have ever used.
The sound of this Instrument is lush !
If I could only have one sound module from my whole studio I would take this one. I own two of these.
I do tweak all my sounds but this is a proven winner. BUY ONE !!
