I love the jx 305 synth & you can almost make anything as it covers a whole range of styles & sounds.I won't be depating with mine at all.

I have been producing music for almost 20 years and I have a vast collection of rare analog synths. This Roland piece is my secret weapon. I have never used it for 'Trance' or 'Dance". This machine can create amazing strings and synth noises like Eno and Budd's Possible Musics. Just dive into it and ignore the cheesy "Groove" title. Also classic Roland drum kits - TR 808/909- CR-78. Great value for the true artist, ignoring fads and such....

@chris I have a bad display and would like to know who you purchased your LCD screen from.

I love this synth! I love the 505 but found myself wishing for a keyboard version. then BAM, I find one! except now the LCD has gone almost completely out :(

If it is only a bad display and not a power issue, I purchased a new display from a guy in Chicago for $60 (blue, no less) and now it works like a charm. I am not sure that it is appropriate to post his info in the messages here, maybe there is some way I can get the info to you if you need it. I love this machine and wouldn't trade it for the world. I wish that Roland did a better job of helping service legacy equipment.
