An all in one techno music production studio, this machine has it all. The LFO and resonant filters allow quick and easy sound manipulation. The new D-Beam allows you to randomly tweak your sounds by passing your hand over an infrared beam! It has a great sequencer for building your songs (with groove quantizing and part level faders for mixing) as well as many idea catchers like the phrase sampler and arpeggiator.

This is an all-in-one music machine that's great for DJ's or anybody else who wants to create slamming dance tracks. Designed as a stand alone machine, they do not work quite as well when incorporated into a multi-synth keyboard rig. It's perfect for beginners and advanced users, but offers the most possibility to those who will use it exclusively. By the way, in comparison to the MC-303, this is far better especially in the quality and quantity of sounds! It is used by Beck, Chicks On Speed, Peaches, Freddy Fresh, and Cibo Matto.

This is not a toy at all. It has some of the best sounds for DnB, ambient electronic, straight up acid, and all other variations of electronic, dance, drum and bass, etc.

If you dont know how to use it, nor do you have the patience to learn it (it is actually quite simple), then you would probably say something like "a toy for kids, nothing more".

That is a ridiculous statement to make about such a fantastic and prolific drum machine alex. Come on buddy . . . . .

Seems like as toy at first but once you get past the preset sounds and delve deep into the synthesis engine its a powerful box of tricks with loads of hands on manipulation of sound when used with a keyboard.The classic Roland drum sounds on it are better than any VST with lots of bottom end and as close as you can get to the anolog machines. A great addition to any studio for classic Roland sounds. I run the 505 into Ableton through a SH-201 making house music and techno.

incl, moby, chemical brothers, and many
even the score of drum sets using today at many productions
rather real drummers. maybe now the sound jv 2080 lossing the dominant power
in mac's audio signal prossessing though.
i love this toy. now i have 5 same machines.
Dame i'm freaky.
