The second generation of the popular CS1x synthesizer is back in a bold and bright new Analog Modeling synth - the CS2x. Many new improvements and enhancements have been made. Polyphony has doubled to 64 voices and there's 16MB of sampled waveforms! There are 64 resonant 24dB filters! The Arpeggiator now holds 40 patterns for animating your sounds. All functions are MIDI capable, even the Arpeggiator can transmit its pattern data to other synths or sequencers! There is even a direct TO-HOST connector for direct hook-up to your computer.

The CS2x is perfect for studio work as well as live performance. Plenty of semi-dedicated and assignable knobs are available for real time analog style editing of all parameters at all times. The ultra-cool Memory Scene buttons from the CS1x are back on the CS2x and can memorize up to 2 current edit parameter settings. The two scenes can also be morphed via the Mod-wheel. Scene memories are saved with your current patch in one of 256 user patches. The CS2x sounds great and is totally suited for making great dance music with lots of hands on control for animated and evolving synth sounds with digital clarity and lots of control! It's been used by Depeche Mode.

The Piano on this thing is fantastic!
The CS2X works great as a very creative virtual analogue synth or a dedicated piano substitute.

Only critisism would be that The Synth section sounds are'nt quite as rich as the CS1X but that's probably just my fond memories of the Big Blue playing tricks on me. ;-)

Highly Recomended Synth!!

This synth has an enchanting - it shares samples with the Yamaha EX5 , which is one of Yamaha's best-ever sounding synths in my opinion. Underrated low-end synth with a very nice , clear and bright tone.

I bought this board back in 2000 and had it ever since. It is a hard board to beat for the price. I'm now upgrading to the Yamaha s90 ES but I would recomend this to anyone who's low on funds.

I`ve just bought one of these off e-bay and I`m impressed! It`s really easy to operate and the sounds are fat.Great for dance music or for creating analog-type sounds. The chorus, reverb and variation (delays, echo, flange, distortion etc) all sound good and there are loads of timbres to mess about with. Also the arpeggiator sounds cool too.I wouldn`t be afraid to take this out on the road. The keyboard is somewhat plasticy in feel and there is no aftertouch, but i`ve been informed it will still send aftertouch via midi and the pitch bend and mod wheels feel sturdy and robust. All in all a really great sounding, easily editable, neat synth for the price (around £170)
