It's hard to believe, but 2022 is already just around the corner, and The Bob Moog Foundation is ready to welcome the new year with a brand new calendar. Quantities for this calendar are limited, and it is currently available for pre-order, with shipping expected to occur in mid to late November. The Bob Moog Foundation is also offering discounts when you order bundles of five or ten calendars. The calendar is printed on #80 stock paper, making the images suitable for framing once the year is over.

The 2022 Synthesizer Pioneers calendar is an 18-month calendar that honors 18 innovators in the field of synthesis. It is the fifth calendar that the foundation is releasing and features synth pioneers from all over the world. The complete list is as follow:

  • Harry Olsen and Herbert Belar (RCA)
  • Harald Bode
  • Raymond Scott
  • Bob Moog
  • Don Buchla
  • Peter Zinovieff (EMS)
  • Alan R. Pearlman (ARP)
  • Ikutaro Kakehashi (Roland)
  • Fumio Mieda (KORG)
  • Tom Oberheim
  • Dave Smith
  • Roger Linn
  • Wolfgang Palm (PPG)
  • Dave Rossum
  • Peter Vogel and Kim Ryrie (Fairlight)
  • Ray Kurzweil
  • Felix Visser (Synton)
  • Makoto Fukuda (Casio)

The foundation has stated that many of the pioneers featured have contributed historic photos from their private archives for this calendar. Along with the images in the calendar, a brief narrative is featured and scores of dates of particular historical importance. Everyone featured in the calendar also has some connection with Bob Moog that ranged from friendship to business associates. Some of them also inspired Bob Moog or were his colleagues. Many of the pages have secondary photos that highlight these connections with Bob.

Check out the official website for more information about the calendar or to order your own copy. All profits from the sales will be used on projects such as Dr. Bob's SoundSchool, the Moogseum, and the preservation of the Bob Moog Foundation Archives. The foundation has also revealed that a few copies of their 2016 Moog Is Now calendar and their 2020 Minimoog 50th Anniversary calendar are still available for sale for those who missed out.
