Free soft synths are always welcome, especially if they offer the type of quality that can be found in FB-7999 by Full Bucket Music. FB-7999 was released recently for Windows as a VST and Apple macOS as VST/AU. What makes FB-7999 so enticing is that it emulates the Korg DW-6000 and DW-8000 synthesizers from the 1980s. It was also written in native C++ code to ensure high performance without straining CPUs.

FB-7999 features two digital oscillators with 16 + 16 different waveforms as well as Poly and Unison modes. In addition, it has a built-in pseudo-stereo delay and SysEx data communication for import and export. It also features extended polyphony for up to 64 voices and supports MTS-ESP by ODDSound for dynamic micro-tuning. MIDI CCC can control all parameters, and the user interface is also resizeable.

FB-7999 is available free of charge on the Full Bucket Music website along with the user manual and release notes. Listen to the SoundCloud demo below to hear the FB-7999 plugin in action, or check out the video.
