Price: 469,00 €

Sonicware has announced that CyDrums, a powerful 8-track, 128-step sequencer based on the acclaimed workflow of the Lofi-12 XT is now available for pre-order. In addition to 64 proprietary wavetables, each comprising up to 256 single-cycle waveforms, CyDrums also features 22 sound structures specifically tailored to each instrument. Users can expect sounds that range from classic drum machine tones to deep, uncharted sonic exploration, thanks to the combination of dual wavetables, pulse, and noise sources. To get you started, CyDrums ships with 520 ready-to-use preset sound patches, which cover everything from classic drum machine tones to synth bass, FX, and more. Those can all be located quickly using the tag search feature of the machine.

When it comes to effects, CyDrums has five versatile effect routing modes, which allow users to assign any track to specific effects via BUS routing. Along with reverb optimized for drum sounds, CyDrums has five master effects like Filter and Compressor as well as 22 extensive insert effects, like Flanger, Tremolo, Vibrato, Delay, OverDrive, and more. Users also have access to powerful generative pattern tools to empower their creativity. Using randomization it is possible to craft unique variations per track or control all parts in real time. There is also a Probability feature to set trigger chances from 25% to 100% for either tracks or individual notes. Finally, thanks to the TRS analog output, digital output via USB, MIDI In/OUT and AudioSynch it is easy to integrate CyDrums with any setup. It is also compact and battery-powered with a built-in speaker to use on the go.

MS-3
By Mensla

Price: Free

The new MS-3 plugin by Mensla is now available for Windows and macOS as a free download. It’s an experimental synthesizer that follows in the footsteps of the MS-2 and offers a combination of hybrid synthesis methods. One of the most interesting features is the ability to create your own waveforms by drawing them directly using a waveshaper. In addition, it can create feedback loops and has an integrated multi-FX processor.

While the MS-3 has no LFOs it has two ADSR envelope generators. Mensa has also redesigned the user interface compared to the previous version to make everything more intuitive. Check out the video embedded below to hear MS-3 in action and visit the official website to download a free copy.

PX Waveframe
By UVI

Price: $79

UVI recently released the PX Waveframe, a new softsynth that is based on the WaveFrame AudioFrame from the late 1980s. The original hardware was a competitor to the Synclavier and Fairlight which boasted impressive features such as non-aliased transposition, phase-coherent polyphony, as well as 24-bit processing features. Thanks to its pristine sound and unique sonic character it saw both studio and stage use by the likes of Peter Gabriel and Stevie Wonder.

For the PX Waveframe, UVI meticulously recorded and preserved the unique digital artifacts and tonal richness of the original hardware. They also captured a second “FX” version of each sound for new creative possibilities with a modernized sonic vision. Also included are 350 all-new hand-crafted presets.

Check out the embedded video below for a complete overview of the PX Waveframe and visit the official website for more information.
