Loop Session Is A New Series of Online Experiences For Music Makers

Ableton is kicking off a new series of online experiences for music makers titled Loop Sessions. According to them the focus of each of these sessions is on learning about one artist’s practice and ideas. Viewers will be able to catch a performance, join a studio session and even talk about their own creations in an intimate peer discussion. The goal is to spend a few hours reflecting on what it is to make music today and what it could be tomorrow.

The first Loop Session features Grand Rivers and is scheduled for May 21, 2022. It is completely free and viewers do not have to register to take part. They can however sign up for a free reminder for the event taking place at 6 pm, Berlin (UTC+2)

May 21, 2022. Grand River, aka Aimée Portioli, is a Dutch-Italian composer and musician. Via Loop Session, viewers will get to meet her and get a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process as well as her home studio setup. They’ll also be able to learn more about her philosophies of sound and creativity by joining the discussion. In addition, Loop Session will allow viewers to discover her approach to composing. She will be discussing her techniques for fusing acoustic and electronic instruments as well as how her method of composing by playing helps her to focus on writing music. Participants can even stick around afterward for a video chat in the Loop Cafe, which is a space for making new friends and potential collaborators. This unmoderated forum will allow users to discuss the session and their own studio experiences.
